Founder Director Featires Awards Exhibiton Contact

At the tail end of 1999, a young graphic designer decided to bring in the millennium by starting out on her own; Armed with eight years of advertising, a few clients, and a desire to create communication that transgressed the limitations of medium, origin and time, Divya Thakur founded Design Temple.

Seven years later the firms’ work reflects a vibrant sensibility that presents intrinsic Indian influences in a contemporary design language.

The ability to design outside the limitations of media allows the firm to translate the principles of design to an unrestricted palatte of assignments; ranging from Film, Print, Motion to Publication, Space and Online Graphics.

Recent projects include: Credit title design for Mira Nair’s The Namesake, (Fox Searchlight, worldwide) Print and online graphics for Le vie Dell’Oriente, (Milan) Ambient design for Mtv Style Awards (India) Web design for Laurent Badessi (New York).

Of note is their work for Lights Camera Masala, a book on contemporary Bollywood; that embraces the wit and parlance of Indian cinema and reinterprets it in a hot modern way.

Their ability to speak an international language coupled with the quest to integrate graphic design into everyday life, now brings them into the retail market. Divya hopes to translate, Design Temple’s strengths into paper products, ceramics and cool collectibles for aesthetes across the globe.
